This project explores subtle photographic intervention to blur the line between documentation and imagination. I altered an image of a figure balancing on a log by adding wings, transforming a moment of physical balance into one that suggests imminent flight. The outstretched arms and suspended posture create a believable threshold between groundedness and lift.
The wings, sourced and composited from a hummingbird photograph, were blended into the image to feel physically integrated rather than symbolic or decorative. The goal was not fantasy for its own sake, but a small shift in reality that changes how the gesture is read, from balance to transformation.
Transferred through Pronto Plate printing, the image gains a slightly tactile, graphic quality that reinforces the sense of constructed reality. The work sits between photograph, collage, and print, treating the image as something that can be re-authored rather than simply captured.
